The Programme, Ethos & Aims
Wayne McDonald has developed & run the coaching programme at CTC & is a tennis coach with over 20 years experience.
The coaching programme provides juniors in Croxley & the surrounding area the opportunity to take up a sport which can be enjoyed for life. The club has built a close relationship with local schools, other community clubs, partnered with the LTA & Three Rivers District Council in the provision & delivery of high quality tennis lessons.
We believe tennis should be accessible for all & aim to breed in our juniors a love for the game that all of the coaching team have. Whatever your age, ability or reason for playing you can do this at Croxley Tennis Club in a fun & enjoyable environment.
The programme has been developed to meet the needs of all ages & abilities. Players progress at their own pace with the support & encouragement of a dedicated coaching team. We recognise that children have different motives for playing & whether it be for fun, playing with friends, developing new skills or wanting to play at elite level we have a session for you.
At Croxley TC we have a group of enthusiastic & keen volunteers who make up the Junior Committee. Their aim is to provide as many tennis playing opportunities as possible & they organise many events throughout the year where juniors of all ages & abilities attend. We offer a Tennis Leaders Programme where our older juniors learn how to assist the coach & also mentor them through the Level 1 & 2 coaching award. Skills learnt on these courses help the young person at school & also during later life in the workplace.
We encourage competition (recognising when the child is technically & emotionally ready) with our Squad Matchplays which happen 6 times per year & for those juniors who are particularly keen we run several teams that compete in local leagues.
We have a team of experienced, LTA qualified & accredited coaches who offer high quality lessons. Our goal is to get as many juniors playing Tennis as possible & develop a love for the game that will last a lifetime.
